Imphal, October 13 2025: Irengbam Chaoren Memorial Essay Writing Competition-2025 was organised on the topic "Political Status of Manipur, 1947-1949" yesterday.

The competition was held at two centres - Catholic School, Canchipur for Class VIII-X students and Standard Robarth Higher Secondary School, Canchipur for Class XI and above students.

Around 1,500 students took part in the competition.

The results of the essay competition will be announced on October 30, and prizes to winners will be given on the 68th birth anniversary of Irengbam Chaoren to be observed at the Manipur University's auditorium on November 2, Irengbam Chaoren Memorial Trust has informed in a statement.
