Imphal, August 11 2025: In a tragic road accident, a 20-year old girl was killed on Uripok-Kangchup road near Lamsang police outpost at around 4.20 pm today.

A tipper truck heading toward Lamsang from Imphal knocked down a Honda Activa which came from the opposite direction.

Ayekpam Sarita (20) d/o A Chaoba of Takyel Khongbal Maning Leikai who was riding the Honda Activa was killed on the spot.

Truck driver Yumnam Manao (51) of Kha Lairenkabi has been arrested by police while the body of the deceased victim has been deposited in RIMS mortuary.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered at Lamsang police station in connection with the incident.
