Imphal, February 11, 2011: The JAC formed in protest of the brutal killing of Kh Thoiba Singh of Nachou has called off its proposed stir and agreed to take back the body following the assurance given by the Chief Minister to consider its demands.

According to a statement issued by secretary of the JAC N Jadumani, a degelation of the JAC and led by MLA Govindas Konthoujam today met the Chief Minister at the latter's office chamber to discuss the demands of the JAC.

During the meeting the Chief Minister gave his assurance on extending every possible assistance to the bereaved family members and appealed for calling off the bandh over the killing.

In consideration of the positive assurance given by the Chief Minister, the JAC has also assured that the body would be claimed for performing the last rites of the deceased and call off the proposedbandh.
