Imphal, January 09 2026: All Manipur Nupi Marup (AMNM) celebrated its 86th Foundation Day at Irawat Bhawan, BT Road on Wednesday.

The celebration was graced by AMNM president S Sarojini, vice president W Bhanu and National Federation of Indian Women (NFIW) vice president M Sakhi as presidium members.

At the event, AMNM general secretary Sh Purnimashi said that AMNM was established to create a society free of oppression in the aftermath of the second Nupi Lan movement which erupted on December 12, 1939 .

She asserted that since its inception in 1940, AMNM has worked consistently for the empowerment and upliftment of women with special focus on education of rural women.
