Imphal, May 08 2026:
Apapang, an Amur Falcon, which was tagged with a radio transmitter, has begun its northbound migration as it arrived in Tamenglong today after 178 days.
Notably, three Amur Falcons viz Apapang, Ahu and Alang were tagged with satellite transmitters in November last year by the Manipur Forest Department in collaboration with the Wildlife Institute of India and Chiuluan village volunteers.
They were then released from the Chiuluan roosting site in Tamenglong.
It is reported that Apapang stopped for the night in a forested hill slope of Tamei in Tamenglong district.
