Imphal, September 03 2026: Security forces seized 10.8 kg of brown/sugar/heroin from Makha Basti in Jiribam, yesterday, said police in a bulletin issued today.

According to the police, the contraband was brought in a truck bearing an Assam registration number.

The driver, identified as Azahar Hussain also Monu, s/o Late Babul Hussain of Cachar, Assam, has been arrested.

Security forces also arrested two drug peddlers from Thoubal Phoudel along with 22.4 Kg of ganja.

The arrestees have been identified as Akoijam Sushil Meitei alias Inaoton (43) and Thoiba Nameirakpam alias Ibungo (31) .
