Lilong locals protest transfer of Municipal EO

Imphal, May 03 2026: Tension escalated yesterday at the office of the Lilong Imphal West Municipal Council as local residents staged a protest demonstration against the transfer of the Executive Officer (EO) .

The protest was sparked by a recent government order issued on April 20, which directed the transfer of EO Tatiana.

Speaking to the media, the protestors said Tatiana's leadership was crucial for several ongoing vital projects, particularly those related to Housing and Solid Waste Management.

They argued the transfer would stall critical infrastructure work in the council area.

Protesters raised slogans and said they would not accept a new EO now, citing the need for administrative continuity.
