Three of a bridal party killed

Imphal, February 11, 2011: Three people including a woman have been killed and seven others injured when a Bolero vehicle carrying a bridal party skidded off the road to a gorge near Maram Electricity Office in Senapati district yesterday evening.

The incident occurred yesterday around 4 pm and all victims were from Oinam village.

They were going back to the village after the wedding party in Senapati.

The driver, who escaped unhurt, ran away as the vehicle fell in a deep gorge 100 feet.

Of the three dead, Jeinang (45) and Thio Paomei (70) died at the spot while Sharkhai Paomei (70) was declared brought dead at RIMS hospital, Imphal.

Out of the seven injured persons three were brought to RIMS hospital.

They were Soni (60), Peter (10) son of Thithi (who died in the mishap), Selap @ Somila (21) son of Thi and Margaret (20).The other three were treating at the AR hospital at Maram.

They received less injuries.
