Imphal, July 16 2015 : North-East Forum for International Solidarity (NEFIS) activists staged a protest outside RML Hospital against the reported assault on a Manipuri nurse on duty in the night of July 13 .

According to a statement, a nurse from Manipur was attacked by a patient in the night of July 13 inside the hospital.

The patient who was brought in the hospital for medico-legal examination was accompanied by policemen.

Besides staging the protest, a delegation of NEFIS submitted a memorandum to the MS of the hospital and representatives of the forum met police officials, it said.

NEFIS demanded amongst others better protection and security for nurses and workers from NE.
