TSA Ghqs congratulates
The Thadou Students' Association, GHQs has congratulated two National League for Democracy candidates Thangkhohao Haokip from Tamu-2 Constituency, Sagaing Division and Thongkhomang Haokip from Tongjang-1 Constituency, Chin State for their victory in Myanmar general election.
The association expressed hope that they will discharge their duties for the welfare of their people.
Interaction programme
An interaction programme was held between Phoenix Brave Heart, Pune based riding team and Royal Riders Manipur at the Classic Hotel yesyerday.
A team of Phoenix Brave Heart was in the State capital as part of their tour "Beyong Brahmaputra" .
Phoenix Brave Heart was started by Satish CN, a prosthetic surgeon, Colonel (retd) Satish Malik and DD Goel.
YVA condoles
Young Vaiphei Association, Imphal Joint Headquarters has condoled the demise of Tongneithang Vaiphei (b 1935) ex-Chairman, ADC Sadar Hills who passed away on Nov 13, 2015.In a statement, YVA said the late Tongneithang's remarkable contributions towards the unification of the Vaiphei and its fragmented clans who spoke different dialects without compact stronghold few decades back was awe-inspiring.
"What we find today in Vaiphei as a unified and solid structured tribe is the result of the efforts of past leaders like Tongneithang Vaiphei.
His demise is a great loss to the Vaiphei community," YVA said.
Tokay Gecko
One Tokay Gecko found by Aribam Mani at his Langthabal Mantri Khong residence was handed over to the Unique Wildlife Protection Committee, Manipur today.
The committee has reportedly released the animal at Keibul Lamjao National Park.
Bird traps were also recovered from Langthabal, Hiyangthang and Samurou areas during a drive.
Ningol Chakkouba celebrated
The All Jiribam United Clubs' Association (AJUCA) and Jiri Development Organisation (JDO) jointly celebrated Nigol Chakkouba at Jiri College auditorium yesterday, our correspondent reports.
Women belonging to different communities living within Jiribam sub-division attended the celebration.
Adieu to 41 AR Commdt
Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) president Weapon Zimik on behalf of the Tangkhul community has extended a warm farewell greeting to Col Gaurav Bose, Commandant of 41 Assam Rifles, Somsai garrison, Ukhrul, today, reports our Correspondent.
Recalling the services of Col Gaurav bose, the TNL president said the former Commandant had given much of his time in ensuring peace and tranquillity in Tangkhul area especially during the 2014 incident.
He further urged the new Commandant to uphold the same spirit so as to ensure a peaceful atmosphere in the town as well as in the district.
