Imphal, May 27 2025: A crested serpent eagle was rescued from a Masjid by the localities of Lilong Yangbi Leikai today.

The eagle was flown in while people of the locality were offering prayers at the Masjid.

Fearing that the eagle would be killed, Makakmayum Abotdn, a local of Lilong Yangbi informed his superior staff, Agang Maringmei, the treasury officer of Thoubal Treasury Office and later handed it to People for Animals (PFA) .

The bird which is now in the custody of PFA will be fed and taken good care before releasing at a safe place, said PFA in a release.
