Thoubal, July 24 2025: Federation of Civil Society (FOCS) organised a tree plantation programme in areas surrounding Khongjom Kheba Ching on Thursday.

During the programme, Thoubal deputy commissioner Hannah Kamei and divisional forest officer (DFO) Dr L Jeeceelee led the participants in planting around 300 saplings.

Speaking in connection with the event, FOCS president BM Yaima expressed hope that plantation of the saplings would help reduce impact from deforestation as well as beautify and increase the green cover of Khongjom War Memorial Complex.

He also appealed to the public to extend their support in further enhancing the aesthetics of the memorial complex and to ensure that saplings planted reach maturity.
