64 pigs culled

Imphal, November 21 2025:
A total of 64 pigs have been culled in the African Swine Fever (ASF)-infected zone in Kakching district to prevent further spread of the disease, the Directorate of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Services stated on Friday.
Outbreak of ASF was announced a few days back.
It further informed that 664 pigs in Kakching district and 124 pigs in Churachandpur district have been surveyed.
No pigs have been culled in Churachandpur district so far.
The Directorate also stated that 378 households in Kakching and 205 households in Churachandpur have been surveyed as part of the ongoing containment operations.
