Imphal, August 20 2025: Two individuals have been arrested for stealing jewellery from an elderly woman at Sega Road Takhellambam Leikai.

The individuals arrested have been identified as Dhamendra Kumar Soni (47) of Ekadhara Bhagalpur, and Shankar Soni (50) of Ghora Phir Lake Garden, Malda, West Bengal.

Both of them were staying at Hatta Golapati.

They were arrested by Imphal police today.

On the pretext of selling goods, the two visited the house of the elderly woman and stole the jewellery on August 13 .

The two are likely to be produced before the Duty Magistrate Imphal West late at night along with a prayer for police custody for farther investigation of the case.
