Thoubal, October 14 2025: Paddy fields have been inundated by water from the Thoubal canal, farmers have said, urging authorities to shut water from the Thoubal dam to the canal.

Paddy crops along the Thoubal canal are almost ready for cultivation.

However, water has been released from the Thoubal dam to the canal causing it to flood the fields, said farmers.

If the flow of the water from the dam to the canal is not shut, hundreds of paddy fields will be flooded and the farmers will incur huge losses, they said, urging the Water Resources Department for intervention.
