Imphal, August 12 2025: Seven different varieties fingerlings were released at the Ima Ireima Pukhri of Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple at Haying Khongbal Uphong Yumpham today.

The fingerlings were sponsored by Soibam Surchand, a noted fisherman and recipient of National Award for his efforts in production of indigenous fish "Pengba" .

The varieties of fingerlings released today include Pengba, Ngaton/Khabak, Rahu, Grass Carp, Silver Carp, Common Carp and Katala .

Sanamahi Temple Board member secretary Meisnam Shivadutta Luwang extended his gratitude to Soibam Surchand.
