AIMS to hold academic discourse

Imphal, July 30 2026: Apunba Ireipakki Maheiroi Sinpanglup (AIMS) will organise a one-day academic discourse on "Bringing Public Education back to Excellence: Role of Stakeholders" on August 23, 2026 .

In a release, AIMS said the discourse aims to address the declining state of Government schools in Manipur, citing poor infrastructure, teacher shortage, low enrolment and falling quality among other concerning issues.

Key themes include current challenges in Government schools, new roadmaps for improvement, and the role of stakeholders in strengthening public education.

AIMS has invited officials, headmasters, teachers, academicians, resource persons, student leaders, SMC members and parents to participate in the programme.

The body stressed that restoring Government schools from pre-primary to higher education is crucial, warning that continued neglect will lead to closure of schools and wastage of resources.
