Imphal, October 26 2025:
A one day youth convention on "Peace and Communal Harmony in Manipur" was held at the Manipur State Film Development Society (MSFDS) premises at Palace Compound today.
The convention, organised by the Manipur Pradesh Youth Congress Committee (MPYCC) under the aegis of the Indian Youth Congress (IYC), was attended by MPCC president K Meghachandra, IYC president Uday Bhanu Chip, veteran politician O Joy, MPYCC president Wahengbam Anand and other party leaders.
A "Youth Vision 2030" was released at the event.
Speaking at the convention, MPYCC president Wahengbam Anand blamed the BJP and its leaderships for causing turmoil in the State.
"The BJP doesn't respect diversity and is advocating unity without treating all communities equally," Anand said.
The role of the youths in shaping a society is huge and as such the convention is of utmost importance, he said.
The youths must come together and unite to bring about peace and harmony in Manipur, he added.
Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Keisham Meghachandra said the Youth Vision 2030 is a vision to empower Manipur and its future, and is a commitment of the Congress party to the people of the State.
He said the youths must take up responsibilities to bring about positive changes in Manipur and uphold democracy.
