Imphal, April 24 2026:
The All Manipur Recognised Private Schools Welfare Association (AMRPSWA) has made an appeal to all concerned to make concerted efforts to facilitate reopening of schools, from Monday (April 27) onwards.
AMRPSWA president Laishram Joy Khuman made the statement during a sit-in protest organised by the association demanding justice for the Tronglaobi and TM Kasom killings at Keishampat Leimajam Leikai Community Hall today.
Speaking by the sideline of the protest, Laishram Joy urged the Government to take action against the Kuki terrorists and CRPF personnel responsible for civilian deaths.
AMRPSWA strongly condemns the closing down of different sectors in Manipur, including educational institutes, he said.
With schools remaining closed, students have been deprived of education.
This will inflict great damage to their academic career, which does not bode well for the future of Manipur.
In consideration of such harm to the student community, the AMRPSWA president made an appeal to the people of Manipur to protect the education sector from any disturbances even during tumultuous periods to ensure that children receive their education without any disruptions as far as possible.
He said the teachers and school authority are prepared to take part in protests and agitation when required.
The AMRPSWA president urged the State authority to pay heed to the people's demands and bring an end to the unrest and further ensure reopening of school in valley districts from Monday onwards.
Joy has also appealed to the State organisations and student bodies to permit schools to resume classes from April 27 so that young students' education can continue unhindered.
