Imphal, April 22 2025:
The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) has contended that the Government of India's use of hired Kuki mercenaries to wage war against the Meiteis is becoming increasingly evident.
Addressing a public meeting at Sawombung Khunjao Panchayat Hall today, COCOMI core committee member S Sanjit said that the crisis in Manipur is far from over and as such it is essential for people to stand together and discuss the situation in the State.
He also said that COCOMI is planning a mega public meeting on May 3, 2025, and appealed for public support.
The Central Government doesn't treat Meiteis as fellow Indian citizens, Sanjit maintained.
Saying that the Government has been overlooking the atrocities committed by Kuki militant groups on National Highways, he urged all the indigenous people to identify their true enemies and stand against them.
Emphasising that COCOMI alone cannot counter the Government of India's proxy war, he called for unity among the indigenous people.
A similar meeting was also held at Sawombung Kabui Khunjao and Sawombung Wangma Kabui Khul.
