Imphal, September 20 2026: In separate operations yesterday, security forces seized brown sugar weighing 2.1 kilograms and 2.3 kilograms of WY tablets, and arrested three persons including two Assam natives.

The 2.1 Kg brown sugar was found inside an abandoned Maruti Swift vehicle at Kwakta, said the police.

Bishnupur police, while conducting a routine check, attempted to intercept a suspicious Maruti Swift car travelling from Terakhongshangbi Bazar toward Kwakta.

The vehicle fled, and after a brief search, was found abandoned and locked in Kwakta Maronglou, said the police.

When searched, the police found four packets of brown sugar weighing 2.1 kilograms.

Further investigation is on, said the police.

In another operation, a combined team of Senapati police, CRPF and Assam Rifles arrested three persons including two Assam natives and seized 2.3 kilograms of WY tablets yesterday.

The two Assam natives arrested have been identified as Rohim Ali (23) of Dariduri, Anowar Hussain Laskar (48) of Bagun.

Their arrest led to further arrest of one Md Nawaz Khan of Mayai Leikai, Mayang Imphal.

From the possession of the two Assam natives, the security forces seized 10 packets of WY tablets (Amphetamine) weighing 2.3 kilograms, one Bolero bearing Assam registration number and Rs 5000 in cash.
