Condolences pour in over demise of P Sonamani

Imphal, July 20 2025: Many condoled the untimely demise of retired IPS officer and socio-political commentator Potsangbam Sonamani.

In separate releases, Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI), Federation of Civil Society (FOCS), People's Political Party, Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM), Coalition against Drugs and Alcohol (CADA), Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA), Committee on Protection of Meitei Victims, Moreh (COPMeV) ,Indigenous People's Forum, Manipur (IPFM) and National Identity Protection Council (NIPCO) extended heartfelt condolences on the passing away of P Sonamani, who breathed his last on Saturday at Shija hospitals.

They esteemed Sonamani's insightful commentary on the socio-political situation in Manipur, shared through both state and national media platforms, noting that his views and opinions played a vital role in raising public awareness.

His dedication and integrity for Manipur and its people in the field of public service and social reform will forever remain in collective memory of the people, they added.

The civil and students' bodies further informed that condolence meetings were held with members present praying for the departed soul to rest in peace.

They also shared pain and grief of the bereaved families and further lamented that his untimely demise will be a huge loss for Manipur.
