Terrorists, says Pambei-led UNLF

Imphal, November 18 2024:
The Pambei-led UNLF has categorically stated that the gruesome murder of three women and three minors by Kuki-Zo-Hmar terrorists after subjecting them to inhumane torture and rape was the most despicable act of terrorism.
A statement issued by the outfit's media coordinator Charairongba Thokchom said that no murder was more inhumane or barbaric than the cold blooded murder of the six hostages including infants.
The innocent women and children were staying in a relief camp after their homes were burnt down by Kuki-Zo-Hmar terrorists.
Troops of CRPF D-20 Battalion were stationed just around 15 meters away from the relief camp.
Despite their presence, the Kuki-Zo-Hmar terrorists killed two villagers and burnt down several houses before abducting three women and three children.
One pertinent question arises here, how the terrorists could move in close to the Indian armed forces and manage to unleash large-scale violence, the outfit said.
The answer to this question lies in the Indian armed forces' biased attitude which favours the Kuki-Zo- Hmar terrorists while restraining the Meiteis, it said.
It was this biased attitude of the Indian armed forces which enabled Kuki-Zo-Hmar terrorists to carry out terror strikes in the most brazen manner at the time and places of their choice, it alleged.
Instead of cracking down on the Kuki-Zo-Hmar terrorists who have been waging a sustained war against the indigenous people for more than 18 months, the Indian armed forces have been suppressing the indigenous Meiteis who yearn for peace, it said.
Even though the Kuki-Zo-Hmar terrorists have killed many innocent people including women and children repeatedly, the Government of India has been acting blind and mute.
The Indian armed forces are not allowing Meiteis to even defend themselves, the outfit decried.
All the while, the State Government has been dancing to the tune of the Government of India and its characteristics of being a puppet is becoming clearer and clearer, it said.
The State Government does not have the courage to defend the life and property of innocent people.
On the other hand, overriding the State Cabinet's decision, the Government of India has reimposed AFSPA 1958 in the jurisdictions of six police stations which are predominantly inhabited by Meiteis, it noted.
This step is a part of the Government of India's series of repressive measures directed against the people of Manipur with the primary objective of suppressing the liberation movement of Manipur, it said.
The Government of India has its own secret agenda in the ongoing violence between Meitei and Kuki-Zo-Hmar and its seeds were sown by the Government of India.
The outfit has also condemned in the strongest terms the killing of one man and injuring another by a Meitei officer, an alleged black sheep of the community, at Jiribam on November 17.The masses ought to award him a befitting punishment, it said.
The outfit asserted that it will be impossible to bring peace until and unless the Government of India and the Government of Manipur work out a solution to the ongoing communal violence.
It added that all the people need to fight the ongoing crisis.
It further appealed to all the people to put faith in their own strength and spirit.
