DMU hosts national conference on 'Mathematical Sciences & Statistics'

A three-day national conference on "Recent Advances in Mathematical Sciences and New Trends in Statistics" kicked off today at Dhanamanjuri University (DMU), Imphal.
The conference was organised by the Department of Mathematics, DMU, under the sponsorship of the Government of India's Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation (MOSPI) and DST-SERB-Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), with the aim to provide a platform for academicians, researchers, and scholars to share knowledge and ideas on emerging trends in mathematical sciences and statistics.
The inaugural function, held at the Central Hall of DM College of Science, was graced by dignitaries, including Prof W Chandbabu, Vice Chancellor, DMU; Prof L Shambhu Singh, Head, Department of Mathematics, DMU; Prof Chandrapur K Jaggi, Senior Professor, Department of Operational Research, Delhi University; Prof L Nandababu Singh, Dean, Department of Mathematics and Physical Sciences, DMU; Prof Ksh Birbal Singh, Dean, School of Human & Environmental Sciences and Principal, DM College of Science; Prof S Lanchenba Meetei, Dean, School of Humanities and Principal, DM College of Arts; and Prof L Rajen Singh, Principal, GP Women's College, DMU.
Over 15 eminent Professors from renowned institutions, including Delhi University, IIT Kharagpur, and ISI New Delhi, 4 scientists from Pune, Delhi, Bengaluru and Noida, along with 17 Professors from Manipur University and other institutes, are participating in the three-day conference.
The event will feature discussions and presentations on new trends in mathematical sciences and statistics, providing opportunities for networking and collaboration.
The conference is expected to foster academic exchange and promote research in mathematical sciences and statistics, addressing emerging challenges and opportunities in these fields.
