PM sounded to penalise Jiribam killers

Imphal, December 14 2024:
On the occasion of Nupi Lan observance on December 12, the Delhi Meitei Coordinating Committee (DMCC) submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding immediate arrest and punishment of Kuki militants involved in the Jiribam massacre and to take action against all militias and sectarian forces in Manipur.
The memorandum also contained detailed testimonies from Telem Uttam Singh (38), husband of Telem Thoibi Devi; Telem Nongyai Singh (12), second son of Telem Thoibi Devi and elder brother of Telem Thajamanbi and Sandiya, daughter of Yurembam Rani Devi.
Condemning the inaction of the State and Central Government in the memorandum, DMCC further demanded i) Government of India to stop Kuki appeasement policy under the name of Suspension of Operation (SoO) and stop patronizing and supporting Kuki militants and its sectarian politics, ii) protect Manipur territorial and cultural integrity and its coexistence, iii) repeal Armed Forces Special Powers Act, iv) ban all Kuki militant organizations and take action against any violators of rule of law in Manipur, v) stop divide and rule and bring peace in Manipur, vi) Government of India has moral, historical, political and constitutional obligation to protect Manipur and its people from Kuki military aggression with foreign elements against Meeteis.
Copies of the memorandum were also submitted to Home Minister Amit Shah; Minister of Women and Child, Government of India as well as the Chief Minister, all MPs and MLAs of Manipur.
