NIMPAL celebrates foundation day

Imphal, May 10 2025: The Nongchup Imphal Palem Ima Apunba Lup (NIMPAL) celebrated its 11th Foundation Day at the Loktak Hall of Manipur Press Club, Majorkhul today.

The observance was graced by NIMPAL president Thingbaijam Ibeyaima, Nupi Samaj president Th Ramani, Apunba Manipur Kanba Ima Lup (AMKIL) president L Nganbi, AMKIL advisor Kh Anandi, Nongpok Leingak Apunba Nupi Lup president Y Mema, Tami Chingmi president Y Momon, ANNUL president L Pramo, Thoubal IMA president S Bimola and EECHAN president T Premita as presidium members.

Speaking on the occasion, NIMPAL secretary general S Shanti Leima said that since its inception, NIMPAL has been working tirelessly to empower women of the State.

"Apart from actively participating in several issues of the State, NIMPAL has organised awareness and training programmes at various places to improve the socioeconomic condition of the people", she added.

She asserted that women of Manipur have a long tradition of fortitude, perseverance, resilience, determination and compassion.

S Shanti Leima appealed to all Manipuri women to be cautious of political traps and work collectively to save the present generation.

During the event, the gathering offered floral tributes to the deceased members of NIMPAL.

The 11th General Body Meeting of NIMPAL was also conducted to elect new office bearers for the tenure 2025-27.The meeting elected Th Ibeyaima as president, S Shanti Leima as secretary, S Kamala as finance secretary and S Punima as publicity secretary.
