Source: The Sangai Express

Imphal, November 05 2026: The Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) has alleged several lapses at Manipur College, ranging from teachers failing to arrive on time to inadequate practical rooms and classrooms.

A team of DESAM volunteers inspected the college today as part of its drive to assess the condition of the higher education system.

Speaking to the media, DESAM president Oinam Romesh said that the team found that some teachers were not arriving at the college on time.

He claimed that some teachers rushed to the college after learning that an inspection was being conducted.

Romesh further alleged that the team found some classrooms serving as both classrooms and laboratories for departments requiring practical sessions.

Stating that the lack of Government support is evident at the college.

He also appealed to the Government to ensure the successful implementation of the four-year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) in the State.
