'Demarcation stopped'

Imphal, September 05 2025: Authorities of Imphal East district have been repeatedly stopped from conducting demarcation at Kyamgei in Imphal East district, claimed Nepram Kishan, president of Kyamgei Youth Pioneer Club today.

He said this during a programme held at the premises of the club at Kyamgei Heibong Makhong to observe its 55 th foundation day.

Speaking at the gathering, Kishan said the district administration and authorities of the Government should conduct proper demarcation of land and evict all encroachers at Kyamgei area without any biases.

At Kyamgei, he said, authorities have been stopped from demarcating land for eviction repeatedly by some powerful persons.

Yesterday, authorities under the district administration came to demarcate land/road at Kyamgei and evict encroachers, if any.

However, the authorities were allegedly stopped from conducting the demarcation by some wealthy and powerful persons.

Despite the intervention of the club to effect the demarcation, the authorities returned without conducting demarcation, he said.

Kishan further alleged that a similar incident happened in the past when demarcation of land for Imphal Ring Road Project was stopped by some.

A robust road infrastructure at Kyamgei will be good for all the locals.

Hindering demarcation and eviction exercises will only hurt the locals.

Therefore, the people of Kyamgei should support demarcation and eviction of all encroachers from the stretch between Kyamgei Pan Ahanbi and Kyamgei Mayai Leikai, Kishan said.

It was very unfortunate that the authorities of the district administration couldn't conduct demarcation at Kyamgei.

The authorities concerned, without any biases, must conduct the exercise at Kyamgei, he added.

Joint Chief Electoral Officer Nongmeikapam Ramananda, Kangleisha president Professor L Joykumar, Kyamgei Meira Paibi advisor Th Vanisana, KYPC advisor Kh Nilkamal and KYPC founder president L Joy among others attended the event.

Students who cracked NEET 2025, and many achievers in the field of sports and art and culture were feted at the event.
