N Rajendro to contest from Khundrakpam

Imphal, September 04 2026: Information Centre for Hill Areas Manipur (ICHAM) founder president Nongthombam Rajendro @ Boy has announced that he will contest the upcoming 13th Manipur Legislative Assembly election from Khundrakpam AC .

He made the announcement at a public meeting held today afternoon at Ibudhou Puthiba Haraobung, Yumnam Khunou in Imphal East, attended by community leaders from different parts of the constituency.

Rajendro said he had earlier decided not to contest, but the suffering of people since the violence of May 3, 2023, prompted him to enter the fray.

He said leaders lack sincerity in resolving the crisis and the people bear the brunt.

He will contest as an Independent to freely voice people's grievances in the Assembly without party constraints.
