"Fit India Sundays on Cycle" conducted

As part of "Fit India Cycling Drive", a nationwide initiative to promote fitness and sustainability, the Sports Authority of India (SAI) today organised "Fit India Sundays on Cycle - Teacher's Special Edition" at Thoubal.
Sofia English School Thoubal, Headmaster Akoijam Jugeshwar Singh flagged off the cycle rally from TDTTA Indoor Hall, Thoubal Wangmataba.
The rally proceeded towards Thoubal Keithel, Wangjing Keithel, Kodompokpi Sports Complex and later concluded at TDTTA Indoor Stadium.
SAI, STC, Khuman Lampak Imphal Centre in-charge, Maibam Ramani Chanu, SAI, IGMA Thoubal Wangmataba, Wrestling coach, Sougrakpam Norendro, Ministry of YAS, State Director (NYKS) Lisham Marjitkumar, DMU Dept of Anthropology, Associate Prof Dr Akoijam Brojen, and SAI Retd Athletics Coach, Konsam Michael were also present at the event.
Speaking at the event, Akoijam Jugeshwar, Headmaster of Sofia English School emphasized the importance of cycling for a healthy lifestyle and a healthy society, aligning with the Fit India movement launched by the Government of India.
"Fit India Sundays on Cycle" is a nationwide fitness movement launched in Dec, 2024 by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports with the aim to promote a healthy and active lifestyle.
