TKLI clarifies on death during economic blockade

In connection with the death of three women in the course of the economic blockade called by Sadar Hills Districthood Demand Committee (SHDDC) yesterday at Kanglatongbi, Tangkhul Katamnao Long Imphal (TKLI) has asserted that one of the victims named Yaireiphi Lungleng d/o Singlei Lungleng of Tallui village in Ukhrul district was wrongly identified as a bandh supporter.
Rejecting the statement of SHDDC general secretary who claimed that the two persons including Yaireiphi were bandh supporters who sacrificed their lives for the common cause of public, a release issued by TKLI's Assembly Affairs said, "(L) Yaireiphi Lungleng d/o Singlei Lungleng of Tallui village in Ukhrul district is an innocent student of Damdei Christian College, Motbung, studying in BA II year" .
While returning home after attending the class Yaireiphi was hit by the oil tanker at Kanglatongbi and she succumbed to her injuries at RIMS Hospital yesterday, the release said, adding that she was in no manner nor circumstances involved in the movement of economic blockade called by SHDDC.
