Imphal, July 02 2010:
Observing that the North East Maritime Academy (NEMA) established by one Thiyam Master Singh c/o Thiyam Nabadip, Charangpat Maning Leikai and based at Beltola, Guwahati (earlier based at Shillong) has not been approved by the Director General of Shipping, the AMSU has banned NEMA permanently.
A decision to this effect was adopted during a joint meeting of private job guidance centres, job placement centres, job consultancy centres, complainants and Thiyam Master himself on June 26 .
A similar meeting was held earlier on June 20, said a press release issued by AMSU.
Further, it was also decided that of the total money collected by NEMA from job centres and complainants, 90 per cent should be reimbursed to those who have never got training , 75 per cent to those who have undergone training and 60 per cent to those who have been given placements in unsuitable jobs.
The repayment will be conducted at AMSU office at 11.30 am of July 5 .
Universal Unemployment Job Centre, Moirangkhom, Unique Job Information Centre, Waheng Leikai, Pious Lofty Job Information Centre, Lalambung and Nongdambi Job Information Centre, Keisampat Junction should also reimburse the money collected from job seekers without checking authenticity of job advertisements at the same rates specified for NEMA at AMSU office at 11.30 am of July 7 .
Relaxation and further prohibition of the job centres would be considered after the due amounts are reimbursed.
