Week-long Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan launched across State

In line with the Central Government's aim to modernize Indian agriculture through scientific outreach, sustainable practices, and farmer empowerment, the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan was launched today at KVK Bishnupur and KVK Ukhrul separately.
The weeklong campaign on pre-kharif crops is set to conclude on June 12 .
In Bishnupur, the launching programme was flagged off by former Union Minister and Padma Shri awardee Thounaojam Chaoba.
The programme was jointly organised by the Chairman, Senior Scientists, Head and staff of KVK Bishnupur.
During the campaign, four teams of experts will visit three villages each daily, reaching out to 400 farmers to spread awareness about adoption of scientific farming practices and promoting sustainable agricultural growth.
The campaign aims to cover 15,000 farmers across 108 villages in Bishnupur district.
At the launching event, resource persons expressed belief that the campaign will bring a host of benefits to the farmers of Bishnupur.
Similarly, the campaign was launched in different parts of Chandel district today by KVK Chandel under the aegis of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) Regional Centre for North East Hill Region Manipur Centre.
As part of the launching programme, awareness campaigns were conducted at Riverlane, Lambung and Japhou villages in Chandel.
Material inputs were also distributed to the farmers during the programmes.
Speaking in this connection, Dr Aheibam Sonamani, SMS, KVK Chandel said that throughout the campaign, three teams will visit 90 villages in the district, provide awareness and collect the data of 300 farmers daily and upload it to the portal.
Meanwhile, the district level launching of the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan or nationwide week-long campaign on pre-kharif crops for Ukhrul district was held today at KVK Office, Hungpung, Ukhrul.
On the occasion, Solei Luiram, head, KVK Ukhrul, highlighted that the main objectives of the campaign is to raise awareness among the farmers about modem agricultural technologies and practices.
Saying that the campaign will end on June 12, Solei added that it will cover more than 100 villages of Ukhrul district and enlighten the farmers on the intervention measures undertaken for crop success.
As a part of the launching programme, micro-nutrients NPK were distributed to the attending farmers.
The launching campaign was attended by Dr PA Ramsem SMS (Soil science), KVK, Ukhrul and staff of KVK .
