Ningol Chakkouba celebration continues

Imphal, October 26 2025: HD Foundation and Lions Club Imphal Valley celebrated Ningol Chakkouba with differently abled persons at the former's premises at Lamdeng today.

Around 100 differently abled Ningols took part in the celebration.

Lions Club Imphal Valley president Jugpreet Singh, other members of the club and HD Foundation, and Leitanthem Tointhoi Devi attended the celebration, HD Foundation said in a statement.

The "Special" Ningol Chakkouba was organised as a part of the HD Foundation's year-long silver jubilee celebration.

Young Women Help Organisation (YWHO) celebrated Ningol Chakkouba with internally displaced women at the Kongpal Chanam Leikai Development Organisation's community hall today.

Former MLA Nahakpam Indrajit and many other eminent personalities took part in the celebration.

In a remarkable display of unity and shared purpose, the Manipuri Meitei Association, Bangalore (MMAB), and the Karnataka Meitei Association (KMA) jointly hosted a grand celebration of the Ningol Chakkouba in Bengaluru yesterday.

This collaboration marked a proud milestone for the Manipuri community, as members from across Bengaluru and beyond gathered to honour this cherished festival that celebrates the sacred bond between brothers and sisters.

The gathering brought the warmth of home to those living away, while strengthening cultural pride and community ties, said the MMAB and KMA in a joint statement.

The event featured vibrant cultural performances showcasing the richness of Meitei heritage, recognition of the resilience and contributions of the community, activities and entertainment for all ages, and a heartfelt community lunch that fostered warmth, camaraderie, and joyful connections.
