RIMS sounds Covid caution

Amidst the surge in COVID-19 cases in India, the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) has issued an advisory outlining key preventive measures against the viral disease.
The advisory said that wearing masks is mandatory for people having flu-like symptoms and their attendants.
It appealed to all people visiting the hospital to wear a mask to prevent possible transmission.
Advising individuals experiencing influenza-like illness such as cold, cough, fever, sore throat or fatigue to consult a doctor promptly, it urged the people to maintain strict hand hygiene by washing hands with a soap or an alcohol based sanitizer frequently.
Routine COVID-19 screening will not conducted but testing will be done for patient having Severe Acute Respiratory Infections (SARI) or as deemed necessary by the physicians it said.
Saying that current Covid infections reported Nationally are predominantly mild and do not require hospitalisation, RIMS, however, advised to take precautionary measures to prevent infections.
