Imphal, April 24 2026:
Stating that resolving a crisis requires action against the masterminds, the Federation of Haomee (FoH) has urged the Government to arrest and penalise Kuki National Organisation (KNO) president PS Haokip and Zomi Revolutionary Organisation (ZRO) president Thanglianpau Guite for their 'involvement' in the armed aggression being waged by Kuki narco-terrorists against the indigenous communities of Manipur.
Speaking to the media at Dewlahland today, Sapamcha Jadumani, president of the Federation, claimed that the recent ambush near TM Kasom along the Imphal-Ukhrul road, which killed two Naga civilians, as well as the terror attack at Tronglaobi that claimed the lives of a newborn girl and her five-year-old brother, were carried out by Kuki armed groups under the directives of the KNO and ZRO presidents.
He alleged that the two terror attacks were carried out as part of their movement demanding disintegration of Manipur.
Further alleging that Kuki militant groups based in Myanmar are trained and funded by the Government of India, he questioned the motives behind the Government's signing of the Suspension of Operations (SoO) pact with them.
He asserted that responsibility must be fixed on PS Haokip and Thanglianpau Guite for the killings of several innocent people by the Kuki armed groups.
Three children and three women were killed in a barbaric manner in Jiribam in November 2024 by Kuki armed groups, he recalled and added that these groups have been waging violent campaigns against the Meiteis since the onset of the ongoing crisis nearly three years ago.
Furthermore, Jadumani noted that Kuki armed groups have also been attacking the Tangkhul Nagas since a couple of months back, killing innocent civilians.
The Meiteis are still unable to undertake pilgrimages to Mt Thangjing and Koubru, he said and added that restricting Meitei access to these sacred sites is part of the ZRO and KNO's agenda to bifurcate Manipur.
He asserted that Kuki militants and their associates have torched several Meitei and Naga houses, killed several innocent civilians to press their demand for a separate State.
Jadumani also claimed that Kuki militant groups, under the direction of ZRO and KNO leadership, have been accumulating sophisticated weapons to attack and annihilate the indigenous people, using funds generated from poppy plantations.
Arresting some cadres of Kuki groups will not resolve the crisis plaguing Manipur, he said and urged the Government to hunt down and arrest the KNO and ZRO presidents.
The Central leadership would not have remained silent if a similar crisis had occurred in other States, he asserted.
He claimed that the KNO and ZRO presidents are neither Indians nor Manipuris, but foreigners who entered Manipur illegally.
PS Haokip was born and raised in Mong Noi, Myanmar, while Thanglianpau Guite is a former MP of Myanmar, Jadumani claimed and alleged that they have been conspiring to disintegrate the State.
Meanwhile, he expressed concern over the unfolding situation in Imphal and other valley districts.
Dissent among the Meiteis will only benefit the enemy, he said.
He also mentioned that the Government of India issued an order on September 1, 2025, directing State Governments to identify and deport illegal immigrants.
However, he said, the Manipur Government is yet to translate this instruction into action.
He emphasised that the Manipur Government must take immediate steps to identify and deport illegal immigrants to secure the future of the indigenous communities.
The press briefing was also attended by Kabui Union Manipur president Dr Heera Kabui.
