Imphal, April 21 2025:
Manipur existed as a vibrant society and it was able to defend its territorial boundary quite effectively when it was an independent Nation.
But Manipur started witnessing a gradual downfall politically, economically and socially after its merger with the Indian Union on October 15, 1949 .
This was stated by COCOMI Mobilization Committee convenor YK Dhiren at a public meeting held at Pheidinga on the Manipur crisis.
Speaking at the public meeting jointly organised by the Pheidinga Youth Development Club and Pheidinga Women Development Society, YK Dhiren alleged that the Government of India has been 'escalating and de-escalating' the Manipur crisis.
He pointed out that the violent crisis which resulted from the sudden attack launched by Kuki-Zo narco-terrorists against Meiteis is nearly two years old.
It is essential for all the people to understand the current situation of Manipur and how the Government of India views and treats the people of Manipur, Dhiren said.
Instead of working sincerely to bring an end to the nearly two years old crisis, the Government of India has been making only empty promises, he said.
COCOMI IPR Committee convenor Laikhuram Jayenta, COCOMI Core Committee members Ksh Romesh and Soraisam Sanjit too attended the meeting.
