Rice lifted for ACs, districts

Imphal, April 21 2020: State Government continues lifting and distributing PDS rice allocated for the month of April under PMGKAY and Open Market Sale Scheme (OMSS) for several Assembly Constituencies in the State.

PDS rice was lifted from FCI godowns located at different parts of the State today.

Chief Secretary Dr J Suresh Babu today inspected few Fair Price Shop (FPS)/distribution centres at Keishampat and Minuthong area.

A total of 2052.55 quintal of rice (1611.65 quintal under PMGKAY and 440.90 under OMSS) were lifted and distributed to the public in Kumbi Assembly Constituency, Bishnupur district.

For Kakching Assembly Constituency in Kakching district, 537.80 quintal of rice under OMSS was lifted from FCI Sangaiprou.

In Jiribam district, 992.53.980 quintal of rice under PMGKAY for Jiribam AC was lifted from FCI godown, Jiribam.

In Imphal East district, 1812.80 quintal of rice under PMGKAY for Kshetrigao AC and 137.24 quintal of rice for OMSS(MLALAD fund) for Heingang AC were lifted today.

2006.51 quintal of rice under PMGKAY and 321.45 quintal under OMSS for Mao AC in Senapati district was lifted today.

In Pherzawl district, 25 quintal of rice were sold under OMSS and 1684.50 quintal of rice under PMGKAY were also lifted from FCI godown, CCpur for Singngat AC in Churachandpur district.

The following quantities of PDS rice were also lifted from FCI godown, Sangaiprou for Tamenglong district.

462.50 quintal and 845.50 quintal of rice both OMSS for Tamenglong AC and Tamei AC.

And also 100 quintal of rice under OMSS for Tamenglong SP/CO 5th MR.In Thoubal district, 1902.70 quintal of rice under PMGKAY and 582.20 under OMSS were lifted for Heirok AC while, 299.50 quintal under OMSS were lifted for Wangjing-Tentha AC.

A total of 1582.41 quintal of rice under PMGKAY was lifted yesterday for three Assembly constituencies in Imphal West district.

The AC's are Keishamthong 846.45 quintal, Yaiksul 433.9 quintal and Lamsang 302.06 quintal respectively.

The following quantities of rice were also lifted from Sangaiprou godown in respect of three assembly constituencies of Imphal West; Keishamthong, (111.41 quintal-PMGKAY and 844.10 quintal OMSS), Yaiksul (328.40 quintal PMGKAY and 105.50 quintal OMSS), Lamsang (51.46 quintal PMGKAY and 250.70 quintal OMSS) .

Till 5 pm yesterday, 12,420 stranded persons were provided with ration such as rice, dal, salt and cooking oil by Imphal West district administration.

For Tadubi Assembly constituency of Senapati district, 3683.95 quintal of rice under PMGKAY and 961.35 quintal of OMSS rice were lifted yesterday.

The monthly allocation of PDS rice (in quintal) under PMGKAY for the month of April, 2020 in respect of fourteen AC's in Imphal West district is 22295.50 quintals (PHH-21056.90 and AAY-1238.60), for Tengnoupal 2458.65 (PHH- 2350 and AAY- 108.55), for the four AC's in Kakching district, the allocation was 6762.75 which includes (PHH- 6511.15 and AAY- 251.60) .

For the three AC's in Senapati district, the allocation was 12257.35 quintals (PHH- 11309.60 and AAY- 947.75) and for the six AC's in Thoubal district, the allocation was 12054.50 (PHH- 11192.95 and AAY- 861.55) while, for Jiribam district, the allocation was 1870.70 (PHH-1572.75 and AAY-297.95) The State government has initiated to ensure uninterrupted supply of food grains, specially rice, during the ongoing lockdown to contain outbreak of COVID-19 .
