Pambei-led UNLF pays tributes to martyrs

The Pambei-led UNLF has paid rich tributes and revolutionary salute to all the party leaders, officers, NCOs, privates, volunteers and the common people who laid down their lives in the course of the liberation movement being waged by the outfit since 1964.So far, over 380 revolutionary fighters of the party have laid down their lives in the course of the liberation movement, said a press release issued by Pambei-led UNLF's Department of Publicity and Education Director Charairongba Thokchom on the occasion of the 8th Martyrs Memorial Day (May 18) .
The outfit said that it will never undermine the supreme sacrifices made by the martyrs but follow their footsteps and carry on the liberation movement until the lost sovereignty of Manipur is regained.
The 8th Martyrs Memorial Day was observed today at MPA brigades, battalions and the party's central headquarters.
The party's Central Committee members, party members and MPA fighters led by the Acting Chairman participated in the Martyrs Memorial Day observation held at the party's central headquarters, it said.
The outfit has conveyed gratitude to all the people who paid respect and tributes to the martyrs at the Martyrs Memorial Day observation held at Nongpok Sanjenbam.
The memorial function held at Nongpok Sanjenbam was organised by an observation committee formed by families of the martyrs.
