Imphal, May 17 2025:
The Meitei Heritage Society (MHS) has condemned a viral video featuring KSO Delhi president Paojakhup Guite, who allegedly called for the killing of Meiteis traveling to Ukhrul to participate in the State-Level Shirui Lily Festival.
In a release.
MHS demanded strict legal action, citing Guite's history of offences, including a recent FIR filed by Delhi Police.
The KSO has been linked to serious atrocities, including an incident in Koutruk in September 2024, where an ambulance reportedly associated with KSO was allegedly used by Kuki militants to kill Meitei civilians, it claimed.
The Shirui Lily Festival scheduled to take place in Ukhrul from May 20-24, is a celebration of cultural heritage, nature, and unity, it said and added that the Meitei community's participation in this festival symbolises inclusivity and harmony.
"It is pertinent to note that this open call for violence is a direct consequence of repeated failures of the authorities to enforce the rule of law.
Be it the surrender of illegal arms, reopening of National Highways, pilgrimage to religious sites, dismantling of illegal bunkers, or the misuse of so-called buffer zones; both the state and central authorities have consistently failed to act decisively," the MHS charged.
Saying that Guite's act is a manifestation of these lapses that has emboldened extremists like him to act with impunity and mock the institutions of the Indian State, it, nonetheless, appreciated the Manipur Police for registering an FIR against him promptly.
It urged the authorities to leave no stones unturned to arrest and prosecute the KSO Delhi president to the fullest extent of the law.
"Let this incident serve as a strong and unambiguous message that no individual or organization will be allowed to incite violence or destabilize peace without facing the full weight of justice," the MHS said.
The Coordinating Body, Khurai also urged the authorities to arrest and penalise the KSO Delhi president.
