Yaiskul protests Dr Rita's murder

Imphal, October 14 2025: Urging the Government to book and award befitting punishment to all the culprits involved in the brutal murder of Dr Angom ningol Asem ongbi Rita at their Yaiskul Chingakham Leirak residence, the United Clubs of Yaiskul and Yaiskul Apunba Meira Paibi Lup staged a protest demonstration at Chingakham Leirak today.

Speaking to media persons by the sideline of the protest demonstration, Yaiskul Apunba Meira Paibi Lup convenor Nongmaithem Memtombi said that they were shocked on learning about the brutal murder of Dr Rita (67) w/o Asem Muhindro at her own home at around 4.30 pm on Monday.

She said that they condemn the murder in the strongest terms.

Saying that Yaiskul is a thickly populated area, Memtombi questioned how the criminals could carry out the brutal murder and get away.

She said that they were taken by surprise on learning about the brutal murder of a woman in such a thickly populated locality.

She then urged the authorities concerned to arrest the criminals and award them exemplary punishment at the earliest.

Late Dr Rita is survived by her husband Advocate Asem Muhindro and a son.

She was a Physiotherapist who had retired from RIMS .
