Imphal, September 12 2025: Lenin Hijam, Advocate General of High Court of Manipur, has submitted that all Government files related to the 2019 recruitment for Group C and Group D posts of MSPDCL and MSPCL, cancelled by a State Government order dated September 3, 2025, are in his custody.

He further stated that there is no possibility of proceeding with a fresh recruitment process.

This was submitted before the Single bench High Court of Manipur presided by Justice Ahanthem Bimol in connection with petitions filed by some individual against State of Manipur represented by Chief Secretary, Commissioner/Secretary Power, MD, MSPDCL and MD, MSPCL challenging the cancellation of the 2019 recruitment process.

On a previous hearing of the present writ petitions, the Court had directed the respondents to produce the relevant Government files during the hearing today.

At the bar, it was noted that analogous writ petitions are scheduled for September 15, 2025, to consider prayers for passing an interim order.

Consequently, a request was made to list the current writ petition alongside these analogous cases on September 15, 2025, in the motion column for consideration of the interim order.

The Court scheduled the writ petitions for a motion hearing on September 15, 2025.The petitions seek to revoke the State Government's cancellation order and to direct the declaration of the results of the 2019 recruitment examination for MSPDCL and MSPCL Group C and Group D posts.
