Imphal, August 12 2025:
Bringing relief to people, especially kidney patients requiring dialysis, the Association of Healthcare Providers-India (AHPI), Manipur Chapter has decided to rescind its decision to suspend treatment under Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY).
This decision was taken after assurance was given by the Government to address and clear pending claims of the hospitals under the PMJAY scheme, said the AHPI Manipur Chapter in a statement.
Notably, the AHPI Manipur Chapter had earlier announced that it would suspend treatment of patients under PMJAY scheme from August 16, citing Government's prolonged failure to reimburse/clear pending bills.
The proposed suspension of treatment had prompted patients, especially those requiring dialysis to appeal to the Government and the AHPI to come to an agreement and allow their treatment under the PMJAY .
In its statement today, the AHPI Manipur Chapter said cashless treatment for PMJAY card holders will continue and its decision to suspend the service has been withdrawn.
This decision came after a very constructive meeting between AHPI members and Sumant Singh, Health Commissioner, Government of Manipur on August 11 at his office, it said.
During the meeting, the Health Commissioner acknowledged the concerns raised by the AHPI and the patients, especially those on dialysis, and gave his assurance that the pending claims will be addressed on priority, it said.
AHPI remains committed to working hand-in-hand with the Government to uphold patient welfare and maintain the highest standards of healthcare in the State, it added.
