L Susindro inspects house construction at Heikrumakhong

Imphal, June 11 2025: Khurai AC MLA L Susindro on Wednesday inspected the construction work of the eight houses which were swept away by the recent flood at Khurai Heikrumakhong.

Notably, the collapse of the Imphal River's embankment at multiple points caused widespread damage at Khurai Heikrumakhong, with several houses submerged and many swept away.

To help the flood affected people of the constituency, the MLA on June 4 made an announcement to rebuild homes destroyed in the recent floods and construction of the eight houses began shortly after at Khurai Heikrumakhong.

Speaking to media persons, L Susindro said that Khurai is one of the worst affected Constituencies in the recent devastating floods.

Pointing out that three major rivers namely Imphal, Iril and Kongba flow through Khurai AC, Susindro claimed that the Government has not released any funds till date to repair & strengthen the river embankments.

"Costruction of retaining walls and repairing of breached embankment have been done out of my own pocket", said the MLA while assuring that he will take necessary steps to avert floods and mitigate the impacts of floods.

L Susindro also assured to provide all possible assistance to help the people of Khurai AC recover from the recent floods.
