TSA, others condemn MPSC fiasco

Imphal, November 09 2025: Condemning the alleged negligence in conducting the Manipur Civil Services Combined Competitive (Mains) Examination (MCSCCE) 2022 today, the Thadou Students' Association (TSA) has demanded a high-level inquiry to fix responsibility and initiate disciplinary action against those involved, including senior officials.

A number of MLAs have also condemned the exam fiasco.

In a statement issued by its secretary general Thang-minlun Thadou, the TSA urged the relevant authorities to permit candidates who opted for the Guwahati centre particularly those from the Thadou tribe/com-munity to shift their remaining papers to Imphal, citing improved inter-community relations and the need to save time and resources.

Such repeated administrative blunders reflect the Manipur Public Service Commission's incompetence and disregard for due process further eroding public confidence and credibility, the TSA said After the 2016 examination fiasco and years of halted recruitment, this fresh incident has once again damaged the reputation of MPSC, it said and demanded that an early re-examination be conducted for the affected paper.

TSA also demanded an adoption of strict preventive measures to avoid recurrence of such lapses.

Many, including MLAs, have also condemned the incident civil service examination fiasco, pointing fingers at MPSC officials for alleged negligence.

Some MLAs told The Sangai Express that many Kuki aspirants appeared for the examination in Guwahati after incurring extra travel expenses, but the cancellation has left them deeply disappointed.

They questioned whether the MPSC would reimburse travel costs for these candidates, given that the examination has been rescheduled.

They also said that many other candidates returned to Manipur just to take the examination, but the gross misconduct on the part of the MPSC has caused immense hardship to them both monetarily and emotionally.

Is there no competent person to head the MPSC in Manipur? the MLAs asked, accusing the senior officials leading key departments under the President's Rule Government of merely passing time.
