Imphal, May 09 2025:
The Rastrahit Sarvopari Sanga-than (RSS) has denounced and rebutted the Kuki Inpi Manipur's claim that the "Chalo Manipur" campaign is a tool of ethnic cleansing.
In a letter addressed to the KIM president, RSS founder National president Sohan Giri asserted that the Chalo Manipur campaign is rooted in peaceful, democratic engagement, not provocation or force.
The march is non-violent and non-confrontational.
It does not aim to target anyone but to engage with local and National stakeholders for lasting solutions to the humanitarian crisis, it said.
The campaign opposes political manipulation of ethnic grievances.
Rather it is aimed at uniting communities, not deepening divides.
False labelling of National initiatives as hostile undermines reconciliation efforts, the RSS asserted.
Saying that the organisers of the campaign recognise and respect the unique identifies and rights of all ethnic groups, including the Kukis, and are committed to a dialogue-based approach to coexistence, Sohan Giri appealed to KIM and other stakeholders to join hands in constructive dialogue for peace and development, instead of issuing alarming rhetoric.
