Van Mahotsav Week: Tree plantation drives continue at Tengnoupal, Kakching

As part of the 76th Van Mahotsav Week celebrations being observed nationwide, the Tengnoupal Forest Division has launched an extensive tree plantation drive across various locations in Tengnoupal district, including remote and interior villages.
The initiative held under the theme "Plant Trees, Save Trees, Lend a Hand to Make Our Manipur Greener" was spearheaded by Range Forest Officer Tengnoupal Md Salauddin with active participation from the local community.
The campaign aimed at spreading awareness about the importance of afforestation and environmental protection among the villagers.
Speaking in this connection, Range Forest Officer Md Salauddin said that as part of the Van Mahotsava celebration, the Tengnoupal Forest Division has carried out tree plantation drives at various villages including areas like Kangsang Amsa Ground, Khunbi and Minou under Machi block.
He also encouraged villagers to take collective responsibility for nurturing the newly planted saplings and extend cooperation to the initiative taken up by the Forest Department in conserving the forest.
Deputy Conservator of Forest, Administration & Planning Vallin-IFS, Tengnoupal Forest Division, Dy.
Conservator of Forest Mahamuda Begum, Range Officer Moreh S Seiminthang Touthang, Commandant Col.Rahul Jain of 5 Assam Rifles and other staff of Forest Department were also present in the tree plantation drive.
KAKCHING
As part of the 76th Van Mahotsav celebration, a tree plantation drive was conducted at Sarik Konjin in Chinggi View Centre organised by the Kakching Range under the supervision of Thoubal Forest Division.
The event was organised with the theme "Plant Trees, Save Trees, Lend a Hand to Make Our Manipur Greener".
Speaking on the occasion, Range Officer Sundar Singh urged the villagers of Sank Konjin to take collective responsibility in protecting the planted saplings.
He encouraged the community to continue supporting such environmental initiatives and nurture the planted saplings with care to make the area a cleaner and greener environment.
The plantation drive was also accompanied by Wangoo Beat Officer L Ramananda, Waikhog Beat Officer N Brojen, Pallel Beat Officer N Bikramjit, JFMC members, VLF members and local residents.
Similar plantation drive was also conducted today at Kakching Lourel Louyai Lambi organised by the Kakching Ethei Committee in collaboration with Kakching Lourel Louyai Lambi Committee.
The tree plantation drive was held under the initiative of Kakching Forest Range.
