MLA gives due to PWD

Imphal, July 05 2025: Mao AC MLA Losii Dikho has stated that the Works Department under the Government of Manipur played a crucial role in repairing the bypass road which connects Mao with Kidima, Nagaland by providing funds and necessary assistance.

Acknowledging the effort of North East Federation of Trade Union (NEFTU), Manipur Drivers' Association (MDA), Senapati District Truck Owners' Association (SDTOA) and other associations in repairing the road, the MLA said that he too was actively involved in ensuring uninterrupted supply of essential commodities to Manipur and facilitated the Public Works Department (PWD) in executing the work on the 9 Km Mao to Kidima stretch.

Dikho said that he met Chief Secretary Prashant Kumar Singh after surveying the bypass road twice in June.

The Chief Secretary intervened to initiate the repair work, he added.

The MLA credited the 'continuous' efforts of the Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary (Works) and Chief Engineer (PWD) for promptly starting the technical and groundwork on the Manipur side of the bypass road.

He expressed gratitude towards stakeholders like the Nagaland Chief Minister, PWD officials, and the Manipur Government for their assistance in the repair efforts.

Saying that NEFTU, however, misquoted the Principal Secretary (Works) and misrepresented the PWD, he called on the Federation to rectify their media statement.
