Imphal, September 04 2025:
Candidates who appeared in the now cancelled 2019 recruitment of MSPCL and MSPDCL have appealed to the Government to rescind its decision and declare the results.
The candidates will be forced to approach the Court if the order cancelling the 2019 recruitment is not revoked, the MSPDCL and MSPCL-Awaiting Group 2019 has said.
Speaking to reporters at Manipur Press Club Imphal today, the group's president, Yumkhaibam Manoj said the notification for the recruitment was issued in 2019 and the process started in 2020 .
Around 37,000 candidates appeared in the examination conducted for recruitment to 907 vacant posts, he said.
Now, after 6 years of waiting, the recruitment has been cancelled, ruining the career and fate of around 37,000 candidates, he added.
The 2019 recruitment was cancelled by the Governor-in-Council on August 14, 2025 with a decision to conduct fresh recruitment through the Staff Selection Commission, allowing candidates who had applied and appeared in the earlier recruitment process to appear in the fresh examination free of cost and granting one-time age relaxation beyond the normal upper age limit.
At Manipur Press Club, Manoj said the authorities concerned has not mentioned any particular reason for cancelling the recruitment process.
The Governor and the authorities concerned should review the order/decision that cancelled the recruitment process, and declare the pending results in the interest of the candidates, he said.
If the authorities fail to revoke the order and declare the results, the candidates may launch an intense agitation and approach the Court for justice, Manoj said.
