Imphal, May 04 2025:
The Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) has condoled the demise of Zeliangrong youths who were killed in an encounter with Indian security forces on April 29, 2025 at Dihamlai, between Kubing and Herakilo villages in NC Hills, Assam.
The ZUF in a release has stated that the supreme sacrifices for the cause of the Naga people will forever be remembered and honoured in the annals of Naga's history.
"We share in the pain of your families and stand in solidarity with them during this difficult time.
May the departed souls rest in eternal peace", it added.
The ZUF also expresses its deep concern and outrage at the NSCN-IM leadership for misusing Zeliangrong youths and disrupting the peace in Zeliangrong inhabited areas for their own self-serving interests.
"It is disheartening to witness NSCN-IM leaders amassing personal wealth, purchasing luxury vehicles, constructing lavish homes, and indulging in extravagant lifestyles at the expense of ordinary people.
The innocent Zeliangrong youths are being sent to fight against their own brothers, risking their lives to serve the corrupt ambitions of a few NSCN top leaders", said the ZUF.
The ZUF also warns the NSCN-IM of serious consequences if they fail to immediately cease exploiting of Zeliangrong youths in the Zeliangrong region for their selfish gains.
Urging all Zeliangrong youths currently serving in various factions to return and join ZUF in the united struggle for homeland, the ZUF stated that it has opened its door for their defector brothers to come into the main stream in support of their cause of achieving the long-cherished dream of the Zeliangrong Homeland.
Meanwhile, the ZUF has also expressed its deep concern over the recent violent clash over a land dispute between the Inrianglong and Dailong villages, which resulted in multiple injuries.
The ZUF appeals to the citizens of both villages to renounce violence and embrace dialogue and reconciliation between the two villages who have historically been pillars of peace and unity in resolving land matters with the Zeliangrong community.
